Urgent Housing Need
The concept responds to the demand for affordable urban accommodation for working households and the wider Dunoon community.
Project Portfolio · Cape Town, South Africa
A proposed high-density development designed to deliver dignified, safe and affordable urban housing for working families and communities in Dunoon.
Project at a Glance
The concept proposes a ten-storey, modular residential building on a prominent corner site at Furlong Drive and Potsdam Road in Dunoon, Cape Town.
Development Concept
The current concept is based on approximately 50 units per floor across ten storeys. Indicative units provide an open-plan living and sleeping area, kitchenette, private bathroom and built-in storage.
Ground-floor communal facilities are expected to include an entrance lobby, administration space, laundry, multi-purpose room and service areas. The concept also anticipates stairs and lifts for universal access and safety compliance, together with durable, low-maintenance materials and energy- and water-efficient systems.
Modular and standardised design principles are proposed to support construction speed and cost control. The final configuration remains subject to zoning confirmation, feasibility work, technical design and statutory approvals.
